Top Five Knocks By Ravindra Jadeja

Top 5 Innings by Ravindra Jadeja

One of the important factors for Team India’s success in recent years is the best quality of spin attack which takes on the responsibility of the whole team and shocks the opponent with every bowl. There have been numerous spin bowlers who have played some commendable cricket in recent years and have come out on top with their talent. However, there is no one like Ravindra Jadeja who has helped Team India not only as a skilled bowler but also as a skilled lower-order batsman and a fantabulous fielder.

Ravindra Jadeja has built his fear for some international teams and he is considered an unpredictable player who can change the course of the game with his talent of cricket. Jadeja made his debut in 2009 for Team India and since then he has been a crucial part of Team India in all the formats of the game.

In this article, we have compiled a list of five performances by Ravindra Jadeja which helped team India to score a win in international cricket.

1) 175* and 9/97 vs Sri Lanka at Mohali (2022)

Ravindra Jadeja made history in 2022 by achieving the best possible number as an allrounder in Test cricket. He became the best-ever all-rounder in Test cricket after achieving these numbers. During Sri Lanka’s tour to India, in one of the Test fixtures at Mohali, Jadeja came on to bat at the lower end and team India was already struggling with their performance. However, Jadeja remained calm and played his best innings against Sri Lankan bowlers and scored 175 runs. He also picked up 5 wickets in the first and 4 wickets in the second innings.

2) 70* and 7/237 vs Sri Lanka at Colombo (2017)

Sri Lanka’s hopes were derailed once again by Sir Ravindra Jadeja at their home ground in 2017. In a Test fixture against Sri Lanka at Colombo, Jadeja smashed 70 runs in 85 balls and completely destroyed Lanks’s bowling attack. However, things got heated up when Ravindra Jadeja picked up 7 wickets with his quality spin bowling and stunned the batting line-up. Since his performance in 2017, Jadeja’s performance has gotten much better.

3) 78 vs England, Kennington Oval (2011)

Ravindra Jadeja was not part of the World Cup-winning squad in 2011. However, he was back in the team in 2011 and played a series against England. Team India’s performance was not as good as it was expected and the players struggled to make an impact. However, in the 3rd ODI, Jadeja showed his skills and picked up 2 wickets, and scored 78 with his bat. Team India was at 57/5 but Jadeja handled the innings and joined Dhoni for a constructive partnership. While bowling, Jadeja looked in good form but because of the Duckworth-Lewis, team India lost the game.

4) 66* vs New Zealand, Auckland (2014)

This is one of the best knocks Ravindra Jadeja has played for team India. The limited-over format has always brought the best out of him in every situation. Men in Blue already lost the series against New Zealand by 2-0 but in the third ODI, team India’s score was 184 for 6 wickets in the 35th over while chasing 315.
