Five players to watch out for in WTC Final

5 Players to watch out in WTC Final

2023 will be recorded as one of the best years of international cricket. We have multiple ICC tournaments this year and some of the best cricketing action lineups for fans across the globe. Before the ODI world cup takes the spotlight, the WTC final between Australia and India will make it to the international media. The final game will begin on the 7th of June and once the Indian Premier League is over, players from both countries will travel back to their respective camps.

Both countries have announced their respective squads for the final game and now the players will be preparing themselves mentally and physically to face the biggest challenge in the red-ball format. Some big names are missing from both sides but we have compiled a list of 5 players who will be in the limelight for the final game.

1) Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is known for his exceptional batting skills and his ability to perform under pressure. He has a remarkable record in Test cricket and has consistently been a crucial player for India. His experience and passion for the game make him a significant presence on the field.

As a batsman, Kohli can dominate any bowling attack and build big innings, which could play a crucial role in India’s success in the final. In the first edition, Kohli led team India against New Zealand but failed to perform as a batsman but this time, he is focused on himself and has regained his old charm. The ferocious batter will be a danger to the Australian bowling attack.

2) Pat Cummins

One of the biggest news for the WTC Final is the return of the Australian pacer and skillful leader of the Australian team, Pat Cummins. Cummins is known for his exceptional pace, accuracy, and ability to generate movement off the pitch. He has the capability to trouble batsmen with his bowling skills and takes crucial wickets.

As a leader, his experience and skills make him an integral part of the Australian Test team, and he is likely to play a vital role in their journey in the WTC Final. Pat was absent from action in international cricket because of his issues and now he is mentally prepared to take things in his hand.

3) Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill is the new uprising from the Indian sub-continent and with time his game has matured well enough to become the most reliable opening batter for team India. Gill has shown promising batting skills and a composed temperament in his early international career.

He can play long innings, exhibit solid technique, and handle pressure situations effectively. Gill’s batting style and shot-making ability make him a valuable asset in the Indian Test team’s batting lineup.

4) Cameron Green

It was not a surprise to find Cameron Green’s name in the Australian squad for the WTC final. Considering his recent performance in all the formats of the game, Green is one of the most crucial players for Australia. Green is known for his solid technique as a batsman and can score runs in crucial situations.

He is also a handy medium-fast bowler and provides an additional bowling option for the Australian team. Green’s presence in the Australian lineup could provide balance and depth to their batting order, while his bowling skills can add variety to the attack.

5) Ajinkye Rahane

Because of the absence of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant due to their respective injuries, Ajinkye Rahane has been chosen to be part of the team. Rahane had a very disappointing year and he was dropped from the team considering the decline of his form.

However, recently, Ajinkye Rahane has shown some signs of positivity and because of that, he will play an important role for Team India. Rahane is known for his solid technique, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure and while playing against Australia, team India needs a player like him.
