The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be the 9th edition of the T20 World Cup, a biennial Twenty20 International (T20I) tournament contested by men’s national teams.
It is scheduled to be hosted by the West Indies and the United States and the whole schedule will be announced soon. It will be the first ICC World Cup tournament to feature matches played in the United States.
The tournament is expected to be a highly competitive event, with all of the top teams in the world taking part. England, India, Australia, and New Zealand are all considered to be favourites to win the tournament, while the West Indies and the United States will be looking to cause an upset.
Here is a list of 5 young players who are expected to be part of Team India in the 9th edition of the tournament.
Umran Malik is one of the most exciting young fast bowlers in the world, and he is a strong contender to be part of the Indian team for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Malik has the potential to be a genuine wicket-taker in T20 cricket, with his raw pace and ability to swing the ball.
He has already shown his potential in the IPL, where he has bowled consistently at over 150 kmph. Overall, Malik has been part of 8 T20s and has picked up 11 wickets at an economy of 10.48. Malik is still a raw talent, but he is learning quickly.
He is working on improving his control and consistency, and he is also developing new variations in his bowling.
Abhishek Sharma is a young and talented all-rounder who has the potential to be a part of the Indian team for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Sharma is a left-handed batsman who can bat at the top of the order or in the middle order. He is also a left-arm spinner who can bowl a few overs in the middle of the innings.

Known for his elegant stroke play and aggressive approach, Tilak has impressed cricket enthusiasts and experts alike. His ability to anchor the innings and play match-winning knocks has already drawn comparisons to cricketing legends.
He has already made his debut in T20 format but now BCCI should look at him as a full-time player, not a replacement. Tilak has scored 231 runs in 9 T20 innings at an average of 38.5.
Yashaswi Jaiswal, a prodigious talent in Indian cricket, is a name synonymous with perseverance and triumph over adversity. Hailing from a humble background, Jaiswal’s incredible journey from living in a tent to becoming a sought-after cricketer is nothing short of inspirational.
He shot to prominence with his remarkable performances in the 2020 U-19 World Cup and after that scoring 171 in his debut Test match. Like Tilak, Yashaswi has also made his debut for Team India in the t20 format and has scored 232 runs at an average of 38.7 in 7 innings.
One thing is for sure in the T20 World Cup 2024 that selectors won’t give a second thought to selecting Ishan Kishan in the playing XI for the T20 World Cup 2024.
